The kids have attended Vacation Bible School, learned to make sushi at the library on International Sushi Day, celebrated several wins with the Flying Squirrels baseball team, eaten lots of ice cream and popsicles, played in the plastic baby pool in the back yard until their hearts were content and taken several neighborhood walks and bike rides. We also found a local public pool to splash in, parks to play in and attended lot of Friday Cheers (local/regional music in downtown RVA on an island in the James River). We have taken day trips to Yorktown beach, Buckroe beach and went camping once (our tent leaked rain and we slept in the car--not fun.)
We went to Charlotte for a week during 4th of July: spent wonderful time with family and friends, saw awesome fireworks at the Charlotte Knights baseball game, participated in Jan and Leon's neighborhood golf cart parade, celebrated Rylie's 10th birthday (wow!) and played in the pool.
Another big adventure comes next month when the kids and I spend two weeks in Northern Indiana/Chicago and Anderson, IN visiting friends and family. While we are there, my mom will celebrate her 80th birthday!
