At the same time, He wanted me to have to trust Him; hence, the strong call I received about a year ago to quit my career at Premier. Otherwise, I would have maintained my large salary while feeling completely miserable and trapped in a consistently burdensome job, hoping that Eric would just find a job soon to add to our total income. See, then I would have been able to continue relying on myself and my earning potential, my idols of pride and security undisturbed. If my plan came to fruition, I would have missed the point of my side of the journey. Eric has a completely different take on the journey, but just as God-centered and grateful for the process and the result.
With that piece of the journey complete, our prayer is that we won't forget what He has done for us, that we won't back-slide on the areas where we've grown, and that because of the strengthening of our faith, we will only continue to glorify Him more.
As I struggled to find the words to praise Him, God showed me Psalm 66:
